Earlier this week Spirit shared a message with me that I feel inspired to share with you as I am certain that in these potent, transformative, and often challenging times I am not the only one who will benefit from hearing this message. So please, take a deep breath, connect with your heart, and listen to these words from the Heart of Spirit to the Heart of You:

“It is right and ok to be exactly where you are right now. To be exactly how you want to be. Your life is happening right now, in this moment. Enjoy it. Be it and live it. Choose from the deeper parts of you, past ideas of shoulds. ‘Should be doing this. Should be doing that.’ Spirit never speaks in ‘shoulds.’ Should always arises from the false self, the limited self.

Dare to be exactly who you wish to be, exactly who you are. You are a marvelous being. Life is the creative potential that moves through your very being. Life is the unfolding essence of you. You are the author of your own life. There will never be another. Give your self permission to create all of what you desire–moving beyond limitation into your own infinite being.”

I AM alive. I AM whole. I AM at one with all creation. I AM at home in my own being.

Healing is a process, which really we can say lasts our entire lives. No matter what the conditions a person is facing, whether a “sick” mind, an unhappy heart, or a body dealing with disease, that person is healing, moving toward wholeness. Wholeness is the recognition at the deepest level of our being that we are whole—we cannot be ruined or damaged or broken, no matter the conditions, physical, mental or emotional, that we experience. Wholeness is the grace of spirit. Continue reading →

I am lucky. All in all, I have always been (to date anyway) a fairly physically healthy person. I haven’t had much to contend with in the way of diseases or conditions or illnesses. Once I discovered many years ago that if I actually take care of my body with all the common sense things when a cold threatens (such as good sleep/rest, plenty of water, nourishing food, vitamins and other immune boosters), I rarely deal with colds and have been even healthier for the most part.

With that said, I have spent a good bit of my life contending with what one might call “mental health issues” – specifically depression and anxiety, angst and extreme emotional pain.

So what is healing anyway? The world heal comes from the Old English word “hælan” meaning to “make whole, sound and well.” All wonderful things, yes?

I call myself a healer. I practice Reiki, shamanic energy, and sound healing on clients who come to me generally seeking healing or the experience of well-being. I don’t HEAL people; I am a facilitator of healing. Healing energy moves through me and I hold a space for healing to happen—without attachment to outcome; without an idea of what it should be; trusting that healing will occur because it is in every being’s nature to heal; that is, it is in every being’s nature to return to wholeness.

Healing is a process, which really we can say lasts our entire lives. No matter what the conditions a person is facing, whether a “sick” mind, an unhappy heart, or a body dealing with disease, that person is healing, moving toward wholeness.

Let me be clear here, wholeness isn’t perfection, nor is it curing. Sometimes curing happens with healing and how fantastic when it does.

Wholeness is the recognition at the deepest level of our being that we are whole—we cannot be ruined or damaged or broken, no matter the conditions, physical, mental or emotional, that we experience. Wholeness is the grace of spirit.

Healing cannot be forced. It is neither your body nor your mind that heals, it is your spirit, the totality of you that recognizes the truth of its own nature.

Recently a very dear friend died at the age of 35. She had contended with a very painful and difficult chronic disease since she was 9 or 10 years old. She did not survive the disease, but I imagine she most certainly died whole. She lived gracefully and generally without complaint. So she did not suffer the disease even though she did experience significant pain and discomfort. She was a healer in her own right and an amazing presence who touched many, many people’s lives.

We each are journeyers on the healing path. Whatever your experience and your circumstances, I honor you and your healing journey. May you find compassion, joy, and presence within your own heart as you make your way to wholeness.

Love would celebrate the beauty that I Am.
Love would laugh.
Love would invite new possibilities.
Love would wonder.
Love would marvel.
Love would keep trying.
Love would persevere and Love would look right back.
Love would know the difference between love and fear.
Love would.

Love would ask the question.
Love would take the chance.
Love would explore.
Love would enjoy the ride.
Love would connect.
Love would trust.
Love would love.

Love would investigate.
Love would jump.
Love would let go.
Love would listen.
Love would notice.
Love would understand.
Love would speak.
Love would be.

Love would open.
Love would begin.
Love would believe.
Love… would…

I had the idea this morning to switch from the frenzied direction of “GO! GO! GO!” to a more luxurious “Slow. Slow. Slow,” letting my body lead me and set the pace, rather than my mind’s idea of what I should be doing this day. Breathing slowly with presence into my shoulders and upper chest, I sat out on my porch listening to the slow cry of a mourning dove and allowing this luscious moment to permeate my being. Letting my heart beat slow and its resonance come into alignment with nature around me and the earth beneath me, allowing space for a deepening into myself and listening to what my body and being have to share. This day as I give my self the space to feel, I feel quietly simply happy.

So much of our lives we ignore, override, and fight against our natural rhythms to fit into an outer-proscribed time schedule. Practicing presence from a starting place of stillness and appreciation, consciously moving into the day with awareness is a new a beautiful experience. Life is uncomplicated from this state of being. Even so, my “schedule” tugs on my shirt sleeve with what I have to do, but I gently and lovingly assure it that we will “do” what needs to be done, but we will do it from a core place of be-ing. Even as I move into this day, I don’t need to abandon this sense of being. In fact, if I allow it, it will nourish and source me this day.
